Students Recognized by the National Mertit Scholarship Corporation

Congratulations to Nathan Malenfant and Prabhsimar Pabla for being named National Merit Semi-Finalist based on their exceptional performance on the PSAT. Alson congratulations to Rishabh Anand, Clover Childress, Brendan Koleszar, and Audrey Manning for being named Commended Students.

Flex Block Updates

Here are the student directions for using Adaptive Scheduler during Flex Block.

Following are some Flex Block Updates:

Beginning next week, the “extra help” session for teachers will be removed. Students should select the teacher’s “flex block” when seeking extra help. The block is capped at a total of 20 students.
Students seeking extra help from a teacher should arrive to flex block with a specific question. This block is not for re-teaching lessons, but for targeted extra help and make-up work.
Students may now change their flex block up until 8:30am of the meeting day.
Students may ask their flex block teacher for a pass to go to a teacher or school counselor to ask a quick question and then return to their flex block. Students must leave their phone in their assigned flex block.
Next week’s sessions will open on Monday for scheduling.

News From School Counseling

Senior Planning Night: Thursday September 24th During this evening, the counselors will offer tips and suggestions for the seniors’ post-high school planning process. We will also cover the LHS protocol for sending transcripts and letters of recommendation. Additionally, we’ll discuss applications, campus visits and standardized testing.

Financial Aid Night: Wednesday, September 30th

Kevin Fudge, a MEFA representative, will provide current information on the financial aid process. He’ll cover topics including using the FAFSA, applying for scholarships and other tips for seeking financial assistance at the college level.

Both events are at 6pm in the LHS Auditorium
