Introducing

Lynnfield Academy was established in 2023 for the purpose of giving our educators meaningful professional development taught by our own LPS experts while earning Lynnfield Credits. These credits allow educators to advance up the salary scale, earn PDPs and obtain optional graduate credits from Gordon College, while gaining knowledge and skills in support of teaching and learning.

Enroll in a course

TeachPoint

  • Courses will be posted to Teachpoint as offerings throughout the school year. Interested educators may enroll through Teachpoint

  • Participants will be required to attend all sessions and complete all course requirements to receive Lynnfield credits and PDPs

Overview

Course Requirements

  • Each course is 15 hours of combined synchronous and asynchronous time

  • Five participants are required to run a course with a maximum of 15 participants

  • Each course must include a final product with time built into the course for classroom application related to one's learning

Participants Receive

  • 1 Lynnfield credit per 15-hour course that can be applied to advancement on the salary scale

  • 15 PDPs

  • Optional purchase of 1 graduate credit from Gordon College

Instructor Steps

  1. Review our Syllabus Exemplar 1 and Syllabus Exemplar 2

  2. Use the required syllabus template to create your syllabus that you will attach to the course proposal in Teachpoint

  3. Complete "Proposal Request For Lynnfield Academy" (drop-down option from top right green "create" button in TeachPoint)

Instructor Compensation

  • Instructors may receive up to $1000 (total hours determined by Panel Review Board)

  • OR receive 2x the credits to be used for advancement up the salary scale (for first-time course offerings only)

  • Additional course offerings of the same course will be reviewed to determine fair compensation.
